New Phone
I name thee Chow Mein (long story cut short: my friends fault).
I believe I’m on Rogers Family Plan. Embedded bluetooth; I can send files wirelessly to other bluetooth phones. A feature that I never knew my phone had until a guy who had a similar model showed me. Walkman, radio, 2.0 mega pixels camera and this really fun tetris-like game I’m very fond of.
Now let me check if I have [insert months] free text messaging..

Anti-Social?
I remember last year, I tried to get out of this house every chance that I get to be with friends. I guess it’s just funny time of the freshman/1st year in high school where you feel the need to be constantly having a busy social life, and because of the new friends you made? For some reason, that concept isn’t drilled in my head this year, although it is for my friends. I went to my mom’s friend’s house yesterday, because she’s going through a dilemma, so we thought we’d go and cheer her up a bit. I went home a couple of hours later, and was chatting with my friend online.
"So how come you went to your mom’s friend’s house?"
"Oh, you know, she was a bit down from some ongoing events."
"… But …"
"But … ?"
"You expect me to say that it was a real drag, that I didn’t enjoy a nanosecond of it?"
"Yeah. It’s the weekend, shouldn’t you be out?"
"With people my age, you mean?"
"Yeah."
"… I don’t feel like it?"
I’m not saying I don’t enjoy going out with my friends, it’s fun. But I just don’t feel the constant need to go out EVERY. SINGLE. WEEKENED. I think right now, I need to spend a bit more time with my family, before I go on to university (and I’m sure there’ll be a lot of "social" events by then), and with my future career.
Now my friend is calling me anti-social.
I’m not, right?
Tell me I’m not, I’ll go drill something in his head :)

Outside the flesh
Well first up i’m going to start this off with a bit of a disclaimer. For anyone who doesn’t like rants about religion, God etc then you are more than welcome to not read this..Be warned though if you do, then you do so at your own choice and you are entitled to comment only AFTER you’ve read the entire contents, not before.
With that out the road here goes:
So i was talking to a christian friend of mine and asked alot of questions as i normally do and him not being too scared to give his opinion gave me his answers to those questions which has changed my perceptions on both this world the after life and sin.
Filthy Rags
Nothing in this world you can do will ever impress God, to quote the bible
and all our righteousnesses are as filthy ragsIsaiah 64:6
Just think of that for a second God is this supreme omnipresence and he created the world and the contents of it and you get excited because you have some kind of talent or whatever, how on earth can you impress someone who has carved out the very fabric of the world? Makes you feel small right? Well apparently all God asks for in return for everything his done is your soul and that no matter how crap you are in comparence to him he still loves you.
So why be given life because if anything you do on this planet can’t ever genuinely impress God, why bother even trying to begin? I think the answer to that one is that your purpose on this earth is to help others and make a difference somewhere your talents/skills are actually of use.
Sin & the Anti-Christ
Lucifier or Satan as his reffered to is a fallen angel from god’s kingdom and while god may have created the angel to walk in his kingdom he did not create Satan. Satan is his own creation he chose to walk away from God and it that moment became the Anti-Christ at his own choice somehow thinking he can take on the throne. So what better way to show his power to God the only way he can and steal the souls of God’s own creations…imagine your child being stolen from you it’d hurt you more than you know right? Well you’re God’s child.
Now here’s the weird and brutally harsh part. All the other religions out there are wrong in the eyes of god because and i quote
You are my witnesses, says the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me (Is. 43:10).
Therefore every other religious option out there is in essence a tool of Satan to distract you from God. So if that’s the case, then when you die you can’t go to heaven unless you believe in the ‘one true god’. Don’t you think thats a bit unfair, someone who has lived a life of service for their chosen God is somehow punished for not chosing the real deal? What if you never knew better? What if you grew up in a family of buddhist’s and it was decided you would become a monk and you seriously knew no better, why should you be punished?
Though my friends opinion differed and he thinks that some time in your life God would find a way to reach you and then you would be given the choice to accept him or not.
I would seriously hope that somehow God can understand while you may of had it wrong your intentions were true and that somehow the worship to their god can be a sort of metaphor back to big fella himself.
Makes you think though you give people all these options/complexity’s to somehow explain life and slowly you build a shield around the truth…conspiracy theory anyone?
After Life
Well it was always known you’d eventually die and some of us suspect an afterlife and then there’s some of us who are just certain one of them has to exist, again i quote the bible
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.-John 3:16
Eternal meaning ‘infinite time’. To me the concept of ‘infinite’ is impossible to grasp something thats exists without time basicly, so therefore you can’t be in the same plane of existence because as we know this world is connected to time so for something to be eternal it has to be outside of our world. Hence your body die’s to be free from this earth and your sinfull flesh then you admit your sins before God being wiped clean of all sin. Then and only then can you enter heaven.
So whats heaven like? Man if only i knew i’d share it with everyone but one thing i do know is that hell is the exact opposite of heaven everything there makes you feel like crap and it’s eternal meaning you can’t just kill yourself and be free from the place, you are destined to be there for an eternity. Doesn’t sound like a place i’d like to be in and no matter what i do while alive it’s filthy rags compared to Gods work therefore it’s not going to be like browny points into heaven as my friend said ‘you can’t use words to get in’.
So if heaven exists outside the human form and it’s this wonderful place with no sin, no pain, no suffering etc then maybe there’s not a need for anything at all. You’d have no need for earthly posessions and you’d never be faced with a decision that makes you feel negative in any way. Does that mean you have no need for other people either? Love is everywhere in heaven how do you gauge one relationship over another? I was hoping i’d see my friends and family in heaven and we’d just spend our time doing whatever for the rest of our days and who knows maybe thats what heaven will be, truth is i don’t honestly know and unless i’m dead then i will never know.
I’m confident that God’s not going to make me bored for eternity but it seem’s to me that it’s an ‘inner’ after life. Maybe it only exists between you and God, it seems likely because if you don’t need posessions and god created all those people you knew then somehow just maybe he contains every piece of them you liked all wrapped into one which at this point of time seem’s lonely to me but again to para-phrase my friend ‘You are defining it within the parameters of human life, you are basicly carving out what heaven is like based on your knowledge of earth’. He is right though, i can’t comprehend the after-life untill im there and maybe i just have to leave that upto God, shit he created the universe and everything inside of it im sure his more than capable of keeping me entertained for an eternity.
Maybe it’s time to let it go and think outside the flesh.

Saturday Vietnamese School
Going to Vietnamese School on a Saturday is almost as pointless as me going to a Lara Fabian concert, because she’ll start singing in French, and anyone who knows anyone who knows me knows that I can’t understand French even if I try to. The only reason why I paid $25 for weekly torture of my idiotic, and mean Vietnamese teacher is just to get a spare in grade 12 where I can nap peacefully at home, wake up at 1PM and go to school, then come back at 2:45PM. But honestly, one more week of her throwing tantrums and I might just throw something at her - something the size of a brick.
The woman needs a planner of some sort, because she hops all over the place like a damn frog. She also need to learn timings. We cannot, especially if it’s a group of white-washed Vietnamese kids, read a short story in 4 minutes, like you do okay miss? Now to make matters worse, some kids in my class cheated on a test by writing out the answer on an eraser and pass it back and forth, it wouldn’t have been comical had the answer been CORRECT. That’s right ladies and gentlemen, they wrote the answer, and it was THE WRONG ANSWER.
Jeez. I didn’t see that one coming.
Other non-Vietnamese related news, I’ve conducted a book list, you can also find a "Jennii’s dream library" fund and also "Jennii’s mansion" fund tin somewhere in goobii… er around the corner.
Book List!
- Lolita - Vladimir Nabokov
- Life of Pi - Yann Martel
- A walk to remember - Nicholas Spark
- Lord of the Flies - William Golding
- Catcher Rye J - D Salinger
I also posted this on the handy dandy "post it" application on my mac desktop, so mom can see this wonderful list of "BOOKS I WANT TO READ!/WANT TO BUY BUT MY POCKET IS - HAH - A BIT EMPTY, DEAR DEAR" everytime she comes on to check her emails from my wonderful aunt from Vietnam who does funny noises with her jaw.
Feel free to recommend any of your favs.
