Random schmandom
Well, my new Mac arrived which yep is now officially named Mackie Jnr in rememberance of his fore father Mackie. After all the detours i think it was all worth the wait as it seem’s the replacement battery has greatly reduced the heat and i ‘think’ i have a new dvd combo drive because before the apple install disks would sometimes fail to eject from the drive but now seem to work fine. Hooray :D
Umm i still feel like shit, my cold or whatever has cleared up but now my balance is screwed because of my left bottom wisdom tooth acting up and causing all sorts of irratation to surrounding nerves…grr
Jennii yeah same address mate, i’ll be away in December but not till like the 10th or something, having christmas with the family in Adelaide..woot another chance to see my little brother and cousins.
Oh yeah on a completly unrelated note, Tomorrow is the end of Breast cancer awareness month and so the layout will be returning to the more aesthetically pleasing grey alternative along with the header’s watermark not having the pink ribbon inside it. However don’t let this hinder you from thinking somehow Goobii no longer cares for breast cancer that’s not the truth it’s just the layout and idea were about ‘pink in October’ and well it will no longer be October.
Thanks to everyone who got behind the cause or was prompted to do some research, display a ribbon etc I’m sure one day there will be a cure but for now awareness is the best we can do and together i think we’ve raised the awareness level dramatically so once again thank you to all of you :)
On another unrelated note and more directed at author’s within the goobii blogsphere…PLEASE could you validate once you have made a new post and make SURE it all checks out fine under XHTML 1.0 STRICT..commonly i edit the markup of entries because of the poor Rich Text Editor inside of wordpress and i think it shouldn’t be my responsibility to make sure we validate & adhere to standard, it should be on the honess of the author. ‘you break it, you fix it’
P.S No i haven’t forgotten about goobii widget and now that i’m back in Mac OS X i’m more than keen to finish the project, give it time a CMS is in the works ;)

I like how it says "enter a url dumbass" when I had forgot the link so I kept clicking cancel. No doubt that’d be the workks of Mat.
Speaking of Mat, since Christmas is coming soon, I thought I’d send you a card, do you still live in the current address? Or will you be going away before Christmas with family? Let me know so I can send it k? I would give you my address, but my parents are still pretty anal about online ordeals. BUT WAIT TILL I’m 18 and lives with some roommates in a dorm or something OKAY? OKAY.
I bought a pack of pocky today, I like how it came with a 3D paper airplane ready for me to cut and fold. ANd the instructions are written in Japanese, sweet

iMac!
I love my iMac with a passion. I love how Adium quacks and flap its wings when people message me. I love everything about it, well okay minus the fact that sending files is a piss off…
Should I name it Mackie the 3rd? Aha.
October 18, I celebrated my birthday casually, an ice cream cake and my family beside me, nothing special. It’s not like turning 15 means I get to purchase b00ze or drive a car or anything. But it does sound nicer than 14. And what a way to celebrate your birthday then to have your student card checked for a 14+ movie.
I…love life.
P.S. I believe Goobii’s six month anniversary is on the 24th of October. Let’s mourn, I mean celebrate.

Deftones - Saturday Night Wrist (part 2)
Well it leaked as some might already know and all Iâve got to say is WOW! The review at drownedinsound couldn’t be any more accurate. Although Iâll disagree with Chino’s original press statement of:
"It’s far more aggressive than, you know, our last few records, I’d say. I think we kinda just went in this time and just started writing, and obviously, all the stuff that came out was just way aggressive. That’s what kind of made it fun. It was weird being out in Malibu, which is like a sunny place, a happy place, and we just started making some straight evil music. We’ve spent a lot of time going into it and making it something special, we’ve spent a lot more time on it than on our last record so it’s going other places" - Chino Moreno
Agreed it is evil music and it is aggressive but not in the conventional sense of what people were expecting, resembling Adrenaline or Around the Fur. I’d say the album is definitely more an emotional kind of aggressiveness or evil. The music while in some tracks is breaching death metal and is some of the heaviest music Iâve heard from the Deftones it’s not consistent enough throughout the whole recording to label it as an ‘aggressive & evil’ album.
Any fans of Team Sleep are sure to be in for a treat with this album as songs bare a lot of resemblance to their sound, though admittedly this was expected.
For you true Deftones fans Iâm sure you will also be pleased and while it might take a few listens for you to truly appreciate the sound as it might of back when you first heard White Pony or the self titled album. Persist with it and be an objective listener because in time it will grow on you just like White Pony and the self titled albums did lasting with you forever.
I won’t go too deeply into each track as I feel the drownedinsound review was more than perfect. However make sure you listen to âPink Cellphoneâ right the way through for a rather vulgar laugh brought to you by Annie Hardy.
