What’s up?
Today, I woke up thinking the day ahead is going to be a miserable one.
"Ugh, I don’t know if I can get my course changed. I hate computer art!" to something like "OH MY GOD, I HAVE MATH HOMEWORK!!!!!!!!" and .. "6 pages of HISTORY NOTES TO REVIEW!! UGH", and I love history, so that’s saying a lot. The only thing I looked forward to was a meeting with a teacher (yeah that sounds like something you’d look forward to!), a guidance counsellor at the guidance department. Toward the end of last year, she offered me a job, a job that can finish my 40 hours of community service (in order to graduate, you must finish that 40 hours!). I happily took on the job, and I was to meet her today.
So during my lunch hour, I walked in the guidance office, seeing all of the counsellors, and the rumours I heard about them.
"I swear, ughhhh!! They’re SO annoying, they never listen to you. Assholes!" A friend once said to me.
"Heh, they couldn’t be all that bad" I thought to myself.
So I talked to her, we talk of how the website for the guidance department would look, the current look right now is too cluttered, so she appointed me as the DIRECTOR of the guidance department site. The term was much more fancier, but the word director is fancy enough for me.
Then, when we were done talking .. I looked around, and asked if she could have a look at my course change option sheet, to see if the reason for my course change is valid, and if they would allow me to switch.
She asked why, and I explained. "Well, truthfully .. I’ve always loved computer art, webdesign, and making graphics. But that was before the course registration. After the course registration last year, we had to make a project for creative tech class, the anti-smoking campaign. That was then I realized, I love computer art, yes, but what I truly love is using the arts of computer to create ads, and manipulate ideas, and whatnot. But of course, it was all too late to change what I had made, so I decided to wait till now."
She replied, "that’s alright, I’ll do this for you, I’ll change it for you from computer art to communications tech. Because of this website you’re doing, and because I know you have the potential to go far."
"However," she said, "you can’t go off telling anyone, I don’t want other students to go "oh my god, unfair!"." She finished with a wink.
"I promise I won’t tell a single soul!" But little did she know I ran home to tell my mother, but that’s okay, mothers are a special exception.
I stammered my thanks, from when she said that to all the way at the door of her office.
I couldn’t be more thankful. I’ll work very, very hard, to earn the compliment she made. I swear I will.
So all in all, not really a bad day. Although, it could have been worse. But thank goodness, thank goodness.

Goobii.widget
Currently in the works is a new sub domain on goobii which will feature heavy code examples, tutorials, resources and reviews on Mac Os X widgets. Additionally, it will act as an access point to my own experiments and creations within dashboard and javascript
Sorry there will be no Konfabulator support as i really have no interest after Yahoo! buying them and the same applies for the Micorosoft alternative - Microsoft gadget’s.
The plan is to provide a neat well organised stockpile of widget developing resources aswell as maintaining an up-to-date list of useful library’s, websites and source code.
Hope to see you all there soon.
